The official SPIC MACAY chapter at VNIT Nagpur — preserving
and promoting India's classical heritage on campus.
The SPIC MACAY chapter at VNIT Nagpur is dedicated to bringing the richness of India's classical arts to the campus. We organise workshops, live performances, and interactive sessions that let students experience the depth of classical music, dance, painting, and folk traditions first-hand.
Our chapter has been a vibrant force on campus — hosting the 8th International Convention in 2023, conducting year-round workshops in Madhubani, Warli, Kathak, Tabla, and more. We believe that exposure to classical arts cultivates patience, focus, and a deeper connection to India's heritage.
Madhubani, Warli, Mural Paintings, Pottery — hands-on sessions with skilled artists throughout the year.
Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Tabla, Flute, Hindustani Vocals — live performances and learning sessions on campus.
Guest lectures, heritage screenings, and collaborations with artists of national and international repute.
The dedicated students behind SPIC MACAY at VNIT Nagpur — organising, curating, and keeping the spirit of classical arts alive on campus.

SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) is a voluntary youth movement founded in 1977 by Dr. Kiran Seth at IIT Delhi. What began as a small series of classical music programmes has grown into one of the largest cultural movements in the world.
The movement is driven by a simple philosophy — expose young people to the depth and beauty of Indian classical arts, and they will be transformed. SPIC MACAY has presented over 15,000 programmes in 900+ cities across India and abroad, bringing maestros into classrooms, campuses, and communities.
Today, SPIC MACAY has active chapters in hundreds of colleges, schools, and institutions worldwide — each driven by student volunteers who carry forward the mission of preserving India's intangible cultural heritage for future generations.
Hindustani, Carnatic, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Odissi — world-class performances by legendary maestros.
The ancient tradition of direct transmission — intimate workshops and baithaks with masters.
Heritage walks, folk art workshops, cinema classics, and yoga — a holistic cultural immersion.
For nearly five decades, SPIC MACAY has been the bridge between India's timeless art forms and the hearts of the youth — bringing maestros into classrooms, campuses, and communities.
Be part of something larger than yourself. Volunteers are the backbone of this incredible week.
Immerse yourself in workshops, baithaks, and interactions with legendary gurus.
SPIC MACAY has dedicated nearly five decades to ensuring India's timeless art forms remain alive and accessible.
